Methylation is a simple yet vitally important biochemical process that occurs when a methyl group is transferred to a molecule, facilitating many body functions that enable us to operate both physically and mentally. It has a significant positive impact on many biochemical reactions that regulate the activity of the cardiovascular, neurological, reproductive, and detoxification systems. There are many factors that can reduce our ability to methylate effectively, including certain nutrient deficiencies (such as folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12), stress, age, and genetic mutations in the MTHFR gene (responsible for creating an enzyme involved in methylation).
With important nutrients in bioavailable forms, Lamberts Multi-Guard Methyl is suited to those that require methylation support, including folate as methylfolate, vitamin B6 as pyridoxal 5’-phosphate (P5P) and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin. These B vitamins are known to help contribute to normal energy metabolism, and there is research to suggest that B vitamins are better absorbed and utilised by the body when presented in these methylated forms. Our formula also includes magnesium, as well as vitamins D and K (menaquinone-7), and micronutrients such as choline and inositol are included to support metabolism.
