Sage has been used by herbalists for centuries but is better known today for its use in cooking. However, sage is a potent herb with some interesting natural ingredients. Recently sage has become a popular ingredient in supplements for women going through the menopause. Each of these Lamberts Sage tablets provides the equivalent of 2.5g of dried herb. We insist on a high grade sage extract that has a guaranteed level of 2.5% rosmarinic acid (the 'active' compound in sage). Sage also contains an unpleasant naturally occurring compound called thujone, but the sage extract we use in this Lamberts product is carefully manufactured to have very low, insignificant levels of thujone.
